Sam heard from the final senator today. He was nominated by her to the Naval academy.

5350 nominations per year for congressmen and senate

26,727 high schools, which means that there are

2,675 nominations to the naval academy. Total

Sam got 3. This is CRAZY.

We don’t know what it means. And it’s definitely not a guarantee, but it’s crazy to think about.

Every year my brother sends us an amaryllis bulb, pot, and dirt. Usually in October/November. Sometimes it blooms in time for Christmas, sometimes in time for my birthday. (lol! Last year! Stuart was sure it wasn't going to bloom!)

This year's flower is amazing. Two in full bloom for Christmas, a few more on the way! It seems more intricate than some in the past. I don't know. But it's beautiful!

Phydeaux's gift

Phydeaux's birthday was last Sunday. It was a little non-clamatic. (Read: completely forgotten.)

We got him a present for Christmas to kinda make up for our failures to celebrate him as a dog. hahah! I was all for giving him the chew toy early. KAYLA wanted to give it to him on Christmas day. I "accidentally" dropped it on the ground and he started to play with it. KAYLA took it AWAY!! And wrapped it. He could literally smell himself on his toy under the tree. It made for quite a few laughs, and a sad dog.

Today, although I did not get ANY pictures of the kids and their gifts for Christmas, I got a pic of Phy with his toy. (Honestly, the kids all got things that they wanted/requested. Sam: electric razer; Kayla: money for a laptop after graduation; Kiera: airpods. See I told you, their gifts weren't that exciting.) I will also admit to being a bad parent. lol

Phydeaux put the elephant's head in his mouth and promptly poked himself in both of his eyes with the elephant's legs. hahahah!
